MYC 2013

These are some highlights from this year’s MYC.

今年のALTの研修の楽しい事。

Yes, we worked, but work doesn’t really photograph well.

E is making new friends.

L and I for our last night at the Clair hotel. Who knows what we’ll be doing next year.

このホテルでLと最後の泊まる日だった。来年何する事がまだ決まったない。

Dinner with friends

So behind on blogging, these photos are about a month old.

この写真が１ヶ月前ぐらい撮った。

Had some friends over for dinner. After dinner, we frosted the cake K made.

夕食のために３人友達は来た。夕食の後にケーキの生クーリムをした。

We decided to make it purple, since we live near all the lavender.

Dinner with the lady teachers

On my last eikaiwa-less Monday night, I went to dinner with the lady teachers from the high school.

最後の英会話がない月曜日に高校の女の先生と夕食へ行った。

We got the set meals, so we got dessert! It was a bit weird to have strawberries (summer) and pumpkin pie (fall) together.

デザート！びっくりな事は苺（夏）とパンプキンのパイ（秋）一緒があった。

私の紅茶。　皿はきれいだよね。

It was a ton of fun. I wish I got to talk to these teachers more.

とても楽しかった。よくこの先生と話したい！

Rusutsu, Part 2

Because we were cold from our adventures at the amusement park, we were sad to see that the first  few courses were cold.

遊園地からちょっと寒くなったから、残念の事は最初のコースは涼しいの。

Veggies with delicious sauce.

野菜と美味しいソース。

Quiche (it was warm!), veggies and scallops.

キシュ（暖かった！）と野菜とホタテ。

Fish and risotto.

魚とリゾット。

Meat and veggies.

Tomato ice cream.

After dinner A and I went to the onsen.

夕食の後にAと温泉へ行った。

When we came back, this is what we found.

We forgot the candles before we cut it.

切るの前に蝋燭が忘れちゃった。

Then, of course we had to play some killer Uno before we went to bed.

寝るの前にもちろん、CrazyUnoをした。

Peach Cobbler

After having friends over for Tomato Cobbler, we decided to try making the original peach version.

前のトマトのレシピはアメリカのももの有名なレシピ見たいから、友達たちとももの作ってみた。

K brought the peaches, which we first cut up. Aren’t they a pretty color inside?

Kちゃんはももを持って来た。最初に切った。中の色はきれい。

First we assembled it. It was basically swimming in butter!

最初に混ぜた。バーターが多いと思った。

I didn’t know if this was how it was supposed to look.

「これは正しい？」と思った。

But when it came out of the oven, it was perfect.

オーブンから出たら、完璧だった。

クラスとは美味しそう！

R made gratin.

Rちゃんはグラタンを作った。

First course: Dinner!

最初に夕食。

Second course: pear jelly, but it didn’t set, so it was more like pear smoothie. (yum!)

それから、なしのゼリー。でも、冷蔵庫にあるの時間は短すぎたから、スムージー見たい。（美味しかった！）

Tomato Cobbler Night

I had tons of tomatoes, so I invited some friends over for dinner to have a tomato recipe I found last year that was sooooo delicious.

私はたくさんトマトがあったから、去年に見つけたの美味しいトマトのレシピを作りたかった。

　

Here are the friends, if you can’t tell, we had a blast eating food and hanging out.

この友達。多分この写真からとても楽しい友達らしい。

They all liked the cobbler, but had never had peach cobbler before, so we made plans later in the week to try making peach cobbler. 

皆はCobblerが好きだったから、もものCobblerを作るの予定が作った。

Taco night

Knowing my classes were going to start up again, I decided to invite my friends over for one more dinner before walking into unknown amounts of homework.

大学院の授業は今すぐ始まるの前に友達と晩ご飯した。

We decided to do tacos, but I was out of tortillas. So we made our own. (A took this shot).

タコスにすると思ったけど、トルティーヤがなかった。だから、手作りのした。（Aはこの写真を撮った）。

Yay! Tacos!

A made dessert. We had Milk Tart.

Aはデザートを作った。ミルクタルトを食べた。美味しかった。

A brought this dessert. Maple cheesecake. It even bled maple. It was amazing!

Aはこのデザートを持って来た。メィプルフロマーシュと言うの。美味しかった。たくさんメィプルがあった。

After dinner, we played Cat’s Cradle. I’m a major failure at this game, but they knew different ones than I did.

食べたの後にこのゲームをした。私はあまりできないけど、友達は違うの知ってた。
