Weather and a bread machine
Isn't today's weather cute? Though I'm still wishing for sunshine!
今日の天気はかわいいですよね。でも、晴れがほしい!

Winter in Hokkaido
The following photos were taken yesterday on the train and today from a window.
Unfortunately, we had rain today and the roads and sidewalks are now like driving or walking through a slurpee - yuck! Hopefully lots will melt before it re-freezes into ice!

Weather
If you’re actively coming to my blog, you can now see weather updates in the sidebar*. I stole the idea from E’s blog.
Unfortunately it doesn’t show you what’s coming up in Hokkaido weather:

But you can rest assured, that the weather forecast will look similar to that until about March (though it will get significantly colder before it warms back up) and that when I get back from Christmas, it will be snowboarding season!
Are you expecting snow in your part of the world anytime soon?
*Dad, click here, to get to my blog. Then look at the bar to the right of this post, you'll be able to see all the fun things there, including the weather. :)

November 1
Yesterday was November 1 (11/1/11 – crazy!). Both last year and the year before we’ve gotten our first snow that stuck right around this time. It usually melts again, but it is still a real snow – it stuck to the ground.
This year on November 1, it was fairly warm – enough so that I had the windows down a bit in the BOE car (ok, the last person to use it had smoked, but it was surprisingly less cold than I’d thought).
As I returned from my elementary visit, I remembered thinking that last year, it had seemed strange to me that we were celebrating Halloween, when it looked like Christmas outside.
And yet, this year, it was a beautiful fall day.

How's the weather where you're at?

Dear Car
Dear Car,
It really wasn’t very nice of you to decide to quit working before a typhoon came to Hokkaido. Every time I go out, I get sopping wet, when I could have been driving you. I wish you had decided to quit working after the typhoon, so I could have enjoyed your warm, comfortable interior during these rain storms.
Love,
Becky
A rainy, grouchy day.
