New blog layout

I hope you enjoy the small, but I think more visually appealing look of my blog.

Since I've been posting photos more and more recently, I thought having a solid background would make them pop more, but I still wanted to use a photo for the background, so here's the new layout.

What do you think?

Finally!

After notifying my BOE that my fridge wasn't staying cold enough nearly two months ago, the new one arrived today (only 4 days after the old one quit working completely and most of my food went bad).

When my supervisor informed me the new one would be shorter, I was envisioning one of the tiny college-dorm-like ones many of my friends have. But mine is just barely shorter than me (eye level).

It's nice and silver and best of all, the freezer doesn't smell!

That was today's newest adventure, more to come on the car situation soon.

Worry vs. Peace

Despite some frustrating events this evening, and feeling like I just didn't know what to do about it. The Lord spoke, in the way he always does to me - simple and completely randomly, in ways I can easily ignore or realize he's speaking to me despite how simple it is.

I came across this verse: "The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace." - Exodus 14:14

Even though there are some frustrating circumstances that just popped up, God will take care of them for me. I don't need to worry about it. I can take the peace he's offering and let him worry.

Dear Car

Dear Car,

It really wasn’t very nice of you to decide to quit working before a typhoon came to Hokkaido. Every time I go out, I get sopping wet, when I could have been driving you. I wish you had decided to quit working after the typhoon, so I could have enjoyed your warm, comfortable interior during these rain storms.

Love,

Becky
