Another beautiful Sunday

Today was another beautiful Sunday!

今日がすごい綺麗な日曜日。

The flowers at church had started to bloom.

教会の前の花が咲いている。

With such beautiful weather and no lunch after church this week, we decided to go for a picnic in a nearby park.

とても綺麗な天気があったし、教会の食事がないから、ピクニックにした。

After a few tries, we managed to take a 4-person selfie.

３回目にこの写真の中に皆の顔が入れた。

After we finished lunch, we walked around the park and saw what was the world’s longest bench until 2012, when Switzerland built a longer bench.

ピクニックの後に公園に歩いた。２０１２年まで世界の一番長いベンチが見た。今スイスに一番長いのがある。

MYC 2013

These are some highlights from this year’s MYC.

今年のALTの研修の楽しい事。

Yes, we worked, but work doesn’t really photograph well.

仕事したけど、仕事がいい写真じゃない。

Headed out for lunch with some friends.

昼食へ行った。

Even though we were inside all day, there was blue sky at MYC!

ずっと外ではないのに青空があった。

Time to try a drink a teacher recommended. Earl grey lavender latte.

先生のおすすめの紅茶。

We saw a friend was nearby, so we headed to The World Café.

友達が近いだから、友達がいる所へ行った。

Headed back on the subway.

地下鉄でホテルへ戻った。

E is making new friends.

Eの新しい友達。

L and I for our last night at the Clair hotel. Who knows what we’ll be doing next year.

このホテルでLと最後の泊まる日だった。来年何する事がまだ決まったない。

Monday Holiday

After our adventures to the Sea of Clouds, K and I went for bagels. Somehow she’d never been to the bagel shop – it’s probably my favorite shop in town.

雲海の後にKとべグルを食べた。Kはべグルの店へ行った事ない。私とてもびっくりだった、大好きな店から。

Of course, we had to peek at the fall colors surrounding the river near the bagel shop.

もちろん、べグルの店の隣の川の紅葉を見た。

We went a little closer to the water.

川の近いへ行った。

We took the road out to see the view. The mountains were gorgeous, but they’re so tiny in this shot. Wide angle didn’t work so well.

眺めを見るのためにこの道路へ行った。山がとても綺麗だったけど、この写真に小さかった。この場合に広角レンズは良くなかった。

After that, we split up for a bit and then met back up for lunch. We went to the café by the lake, Ito-ya, for it’s last day of the season.

それから、家に帰って、昼食に会った。今年の最後の日に湖の近いカフェへ行った。

We had curry, which was perfect for the slightly chilly day.

カレーを食べた。ちょっと寒い日にちょど良かった。

I had chai, of course!

もちろん、チャイを飲んだ！

This is Mrs. I. She always takes good care of us.

この人はIさん。Iさんは私たちがお世話になる。とてもうれしい。

楽しい昼食の後にAとKと私。

It was a wonderful way to spend the weekend after being sick the week before.

前の週に風邪がひいたの後にとてもいい週末があった。

Rusutsu, Part 4

After we came down from the top of the ski hill, I talked my friends into going on this ride. I’d never seen anything like it before.

スーキ場から戻ったの後に私はこの乗り物がしたことないから、して見たかった！

Before we left, we had to ride the tiny carousel. But it was tiny!

小さい回転木馬を乗った。とても小さかった。

Of course, we had to try out the purikura booth.

もちろん、プリクラした。

Do you think potato drinks would be delicious?

On the way home we stopped and had to stick our heads in and grab a picture.

帰る中にこの写真を撮った。

It was a fun weekend! Why do weekends always go by so fast?

とても楽しかった週末！でも、なぜ週末いつも速い？

The end of the fun weekend

After seeing the lakes we headed for Kitami city to have lunch.

湖の後に北見へ昼食を食べに行った。

We ended up at a bakery called Loaf for lunch.

Loafと言うパン屋で食べた。

So many delicious breads.

たくさん美味しそうパンがあった。

Tea melon bread. Sounded yummy.

紅茶メロンパン。美味しそうと思った。

Herbs growing in old tomato cans.

トマトのカンでハーブを育っている。

Carrot soup.

人参スープ。

Lunch – bread, French onion soup, salad.

昼食は玉ねぎスープとパンとサラダ。

My dessert! Yummy chocolate cake.

私のデザート。美味しいチョコケーキ。

T’s dessert.

Then we found a musical playground at this michi-no-eki.

この道の駅で音楽の遊園地見たい所があった。

In the middle of an intense game of Shiritori, I made everyone stop at the pass so we could grab pictures of the stunning clouds from the pass.

しりとりの中にここで写真を撮りたかった。この峠でいい雲が見えたから。

After that we headed to Sonkyo to stop at an onsen.

層雲峡の温泉へ行った。

We went for the “Bath for beautiful women.” That's us! 

美人の湯があった！私だちだよ！ww

After the onsen, were we more beautiful?

温泉の後に美しになった？

Then it was time for a dinner at Surprise Donkey! (That’s what the restaurant’s name translates to – makes me giggle).

びっくりドンキーで夕食を食べた。

I got the Bibinbap burger.

ビンビンバの食べた。

After that, we decided to take advantage of the light in the parking lot to take some group photos.

それから、駐車場の光で皆の写真を撮った。

Our names started with B, L and T. So this was the BLT shot.

私たちの名前はBとLとTがあった。だから、BLTの写真。

A perfect jump shot! It only took us 20 shots to get it.
